Are you and your buddies always competing with who makes the best cake, or Sunday dinner or even the best mojito on the weekend? Do you want to turn your creative skills into a fundraiser for the East Cheshire Hospice? Then we have the challenge for you!
Set you, your friends and family the challenge of creating something new in the kitchen every week for a month… Or two! Pick a new theme each week such as…
Vote for your favourite recipe (you can’t pick your) and you will have a winner every week! The winner could share their recipe for everyone to enjoy their creation. Ask for donations to be part of the competition or to buy a portion of the culinary master pieces each week.
This can become a regular fundraiser or a one-off recipe swap sensation!
The best way to collect sponsorship would be to take cash on the day of the event. We have plenty of collection buckets and pots you can use for your event, please see contact details below of how to get in touch with us.
If you want to keep your donations online, start by setting up your Just Giving page here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Make sure to fill in the details about your recipe swap fundraiser, set yourself a fundraising target, share your page with friends and family on social media, email, WhatsApp, text… And away you go!
Taking on this challenge and raising sponsorship for East Cheshire Hospice really will make a difference to local people and their families who are cared for here. The Hospice has to raise over 80% of its running costs from voluntary donation and fundraising, this equates to over £7,500 every single day. Your contribution really will make a difference.
Are you an oven oracle? A wizard with a wok? Or a pasta master? Even if you’re not! You could start your own ‘Charity Cooking Channel’ where you serve up delicious dishes and teach people along the way, all while raising money for East Cheshire Hospice!
The dishes are up to you! However, we suggest livestreaming your channel, or recording and uploading videos to YouTube or a similar platform and encouraging people to donate as they watch and enjoy your culinary conjuring! You could make it a weekly event, or set yourself a certain fundraising goal to reach. However you do it, it’s a recipe for success.
Start by setting up your Just Giving page here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Make sure to fill in the details about your challenge, set yourself a fundraising target, add a link to your livestream or channel and share your page with friends and family on social media, email, WhatsApp, text… And away you go! You can even livestream directly from your JustGiving page so everything is in once place.
It costs £7,500 to keep the Hospice running for 1 day, so every penny that you can raise is important. You may never know exactly how your support will help but you can be assured that the impact your support will have on local families who can benefit from the Hospice services at one of the most difficult and emotional times will be huge and ever so appreciated.
Ever fancied taking part in ‘Come Dine with Me’?
Why not organise your own come dine with me experience for you and some friends, family or colleagues?
At the beginning of the challenge week each person taking part puts £5 or £10 into a pot that will become the winner’s prize at the end of the week, and each pledge to raise a suggested amount of £100 for us here at the East Cheshire Hospice.
Take it in turns to each host a dinner party cooking a yummy 3-course dinner and providing some fun evening entertainment. After each night, you will all anonymously rate your host’s evening and put the scores into an envelope.
At the end of the week, each person opens the envelope from their evening and counts their total score. Who ever has the highest score is the WINNER!!
This is not only a great fundraising idea, but this can also be a different way to team build and get to know people better.
Start by setting up your Just Giving page here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Pick a speciality whether that’s…
Or whichever your BBQ favourite is.
Pick a date when you can all cook at the same time in the same garden or park space. Allocate a judge/s to sample each dish and pick a winner!

Get your creative caps on and bake a new treat for the family every day for a week, fortnight or even a month!
If you want to spice it up a bit, why not set up a friendly competition and see who can bake the tallest cake! Post your pics on social media, tag you friends and family in and have them vote for the best cake and sponsor you at the same time.
Here is an even harder challenge for you… Why not bake something different each day, for ten days in a row but the catch is, you can only use four ingredients!
