Paddle Race

Splash your way to the finish line and race your buddies with a Paddle Board race fundraiser!

Start by finding a venue that will allow you to hire paddle board equipment for your fundraising event, you never know, you may even find a location that is willing to sponsor your event and let you use the site for free!

If Stand Up Paddle boards are not your thing you could hire a kayak or canoe instead, just make sure everyone is using the same equipment to keep the race fair.

Ask for donations to take part or spectate the event, you could even heat up the competition by taking bets on who you think will win!

How do I start fundraising?

The best way to collect sponsorship would be to take cash on the day of the event. We have plenty of collection buckets and pots you can use for your event, please see contact details below of how to get in touch with us.

If you want to keep your donations online, start by setting up your Just Giving page here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Make sure to fill in the details about your fundraiser, set yourself a fundraising target, share your page with friends and family on social media, email, WhatsApp, text… And away you go!

It costs £7,500 to keep the Hospice running for 1 day, so every penny that you can raise is important. You may never know exactly how your support will help but you can be assured that the impact your support will have on local families who can benefit from the Hospice services at one of the most difficult and emotional times will be huge and ever so appreciated.

Make A Podcast

Do you have a particular passion or interest that you feel like you could talk about for hours?

These days it’s super easy to record and upload, or simply livestream your own podcast for all the world to hear! Why not share your passion and knowledge while raising funds for East Cheshire Hospice?

Now we’re talking…

To create a fundraising podcast you’ll need a topic, some ideas to talk about and ideally some basic recording equipment. You could involve different guests related to the topic, plan games and activities and even involve your audience with ‘call ins’ or Q&As.

For the fundraising aspect, the easiest thing to do is to set up a JustGiving page which you can direct people to and encourage to donate when they listen. You can even livestream directly from a JustGiving page! You’ll want to mention your fundraising plenty in your podcast to remind people why you’re doing it and get them donating!

All the ideas but no gear?

So, you’ve got your topic and ideas for your podcast, but how do you actually make and distribute it??

It’s up to you how serious you get with this one. If you want to keep it simple, most computers or even your phone will have a fairly decent microphone which you can use to record or livestream your show. If you don’t fancy livestreaming you can upload your podcast onto a website such as Soundcloud for free.

If you want to get a bit more get serious with your podcast, you’ll want a set of headphones, a proper microphone and some recording software. This might sound complicated and expensive but these days you can pick up these things quite cheaply online. If you want your podcast to appear on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, you’ll then need to choose a ‘host’. Click here for a guide to creating your own podcast.

Don’t forget to make it easy for people to donate!

Make sure you set up your Just Giving page so your listeners can donate to your cause. Click here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Make sure to fill in the details about your challenge, set yourself a fundraising target and add a link to your podcast if you’re sharing it elsewhere. Share your page with friends and family on social media, email, WhatsApp, text… and away you go!

Ever fancied taking part in ‘Come Dine with Me’?
