Light up a Life

Light Up A Life 2025

This year we will be hosting two Light Up A Life services.

Join us as we come together to remember and celebrate those we love this Christmas.

These special services allow a moment to reflect and share memories for someone dear to your heart during the festive season. Everyone is welcome, whether your loved one was cared for by the Hospice or not. Let’s honour their memory and keep their light shining this Christmas.

Please join us at Macclesfield United Reformed Church at 4pm on Sunday 7th December.

Or Knutsford Methodist Church at 7pm on Thursday 11th December.

Claritas Choir will be singing Christmas carols upon arrival. There will be a signer during the services.

After the service, you are invited to join us for mulled wine and mince pies and there will also be Christmas stalls for you to browse at our Macclesfield service.

Sue’s Story

Something very special happened to me recently. I felt very privileged to be asked, by East Cheshire Hospice, to write a few words about why I dedicate a bauble each year for my beloved husband.

David suddenly passed away on the 6thJanuary 2018. He had only fallen ill at the end of November 2017. My family and I will be forever grateful for the sensitive way the Hospice looked after him and our family in the last week of his life.

I dedicate a bauble in his memory as it helps us to include him over the festive period and recognise the truly wonderful work, everyone does at the Hospice, throughout the year. It is a way of remembering, reflecting and giving back at this special time.

As my daughters are living in different parts of the country, they are not always able to attend the Light Up A Life service. However, they do find comfort from being able to watch the virtual service from the comfort of their own homes.

The Hospice not only provide the most impressive medical and palliative care for the patient, they also offer sensitive and helpful advice to the families at this time of need and ongoing.

My family and I will always continue to partake in whatever we can to support the wonderful work of East Cheshire Hospice.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sue and family.

Dedicate a bauble to someone special this Christmas and fill East Cheshire Hospice with memories of happiness, joy and love.

Our traditional Tree of Memories will be shining bright in the Hospice Chapel once again this year. We extend a warm invitation to remember someone special by dedicating a bauble and making a donation to help us continue to care for and support patients, not just at Christmas but whenever they need it most.

If you would like to dedicate a bauble, please complete the donation form below, leaving your dedication message in the comments box.
