We pride ourselves on having a volunteering opportunity for everyone – people over 18 are welcome to apply to volunteer in the Hospice itself, and people under 18 can give a great deal and improve their CVs offering event help, and working in our shops (Saturday mornings or afternoons are always welcome!) If you work full time, again retail or event volunteering, and weekend and evening ward or reception volunteering are great options.
You may have a little more time in the week, if so your local support groups all over Cheshire East are looking for more members to fundraise and spread the word about the Hospice! There are a few roles within the Hospice itself that we frequently recruit for, and if we don’t have an opening at the moment then send an email volunteers@echospice.org.uk with the sort of area you’re interested in, and we will keep your interest on file.
We follow up references on all our volunteers. Roles within the Hospice are subject to a DBS check (free for volunteers), a small amount of annual training, plus role training. No one will ever be asked to volunteer until they feel fully comfortable in the role. Below are a few ideas of where you might like to volunteer, and what our volunteers get out of their time with us.
